A series of interconnected spaces arranged across gentle terraces makes the most of a sloping site
When our client purchased this property near Richmond Park, the potential of its south-west-facing garden was hidden beneath towering conifers that cast a gloomy, claustrophobic shadow. Our design opened up the space, working with the existing topography to create a series of gently rising terraces, each with its own distinct purpose and character. The design was fully coordinated with a new house extension.
A sunny dining terrace leads to a gravelled seating area that catches the morning sun. A stroll across a small lawn and up limestone steps brings you to a kitchen garden and greenhouse, creating a journey through the garden that feels both natural and purposeful.
Four new deciduous trees introduce seasonal drama, offering spring blossom and fiery autumn colour. The planting is structured with feature shrubs, while soft grasses and flowering perennials in deep purple, rich orange, blue, and white provide texture, movement, and year-round interest.
